Chicken Under a Brick and More from Marc Forgione

Living in NYC, there is no lack of incredible restaurants to scope out for a celebration dinner—especially an anniversary. On the tip of a few friends, we decided to check out Marc Forgione in TriBeCa for ours. Starting the night, we started off with some warm potato bread and split the Chili Lobster with Texas … Continue reading →

Honey Sriracha Panko-Crusted Chicken

Did we just make adult chicken fingers? Yup. Looking for another spin on our go-to stir fry dishes, we decided to try out baking chicken in the oven vs. tossing on the stove. Kicking it up a notch with some panko crumbs and a sweet and spicy saucy glaze, we found ourselves a winner. This … Continue reading →

Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip

Growing up a Buffalo Bills fan, we’ve been through the good and bad for decades. But one thing stays consistent year-to-year — the game day snacks. Bills fans own the tailgate and game day snack scene with some of the most impressive pre-game celebrations in the whole league. Going back to my roots, here’s a … Continue reading →

Eureka! | Paprika Chicken

On a boring, mid-winter day, the only thing that might sort of excite me is the fact that in a few short hours, I can craft up a delicious meal. I found this recipe while surfing on Pinterest: Paprika Chicken with a garlic|butter|thyme|wine reduction sauce. What attracted me the most to this recipe was the … Continue reading →

Williamsburg: Sips & Bites

Sometimes some of the best places to grab a quick bite when hunger strikes are random spots you happen to wander into. Sips & Bites in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is just that type of place. A couple months back, the Rookie Chef crew spotted S&B down the block and decided to give it a try. The … Continue reading →

Ken’s Honey Chili Chicken

Posted on August 15, 2015 by Kathryn Przybyla • Leave a comment

This recipe might be the most infamous family dish in the history of Przybyla family cooking. My Dad (Chef Ken) was invited to compete in the National Buffalo Wing Fest for the best amateur wing sauce for five years in a row, starting with the inaugural festival in 2002. This was our family’s first real … Continue reading →

Dijon Chicken with Roasted Balsamic Brussels Sprouts

There’s nothing like a home-cooked meal. With as crazy as my work schedule has been, that small luxury of cooking a great dinner has been hard to come by recently. But last night was different. A rare night off had me planning for dinner since around lunchtime. Making my grocery list, since I was clearly … Continue reading →

Sh** In My Fridge: Chicken Pot Pie

Posted on March 13, 2015 by kristinprzybyla • 2 Comments

This year Buffalo had one of its coldest, and most snowy winters in its history. For someone who doesn’t like cold weather or being outside in -30 degree weather, cooking is what gets me through. I had really been craving some tasty, creamy chicken pot pie and behold… One day when I was looking to … Continue reading →

The New Taco

Could there be such a thing? Yes. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all about tacos. I love the shells. I prefer soft over crunchy. White, wheat, corn flour…each just as tasty as the next. I enjoy burritos, enchiladas, open faced, and melted shut with cheese. I would even consider wraps as part of the … Continue reading →

Williamsburg: Sweet Chick

Brunch time is Brooklyn is where it’s at on the weekends. Wandering through Williamsburg after hitting up the Brooklyn Brewery for an early afternoon tour, my family and I stumbled upon Sweet Chick. A fantastic find, we were as much looking to get out of the pouring rain as we were pumped about finding a … Continue reading →

Chive Chicken Pasta

I love a hearty plate of pasta as much as the next foodie. But sometimes you need to shake things up from the go-to meaty red sauce that tends to make it’s way into the kitchen. This recipe is all about flavor and simplicity. The basics for this fresh take on chicken and pasta include … Continue reading →

Garlic Chicken with Sautéed Veggies

After spending a few days at home this past weekend, I came back to Brooklyn with a horrifically empty fridge.  Fairly efficient with my grocery shopping, I made sure to use up every last bit of produce before leaving, as not to waste. A quick trip to Trader Joes to re-stock, I settled upon a … Continue reading →

Seared Balsamic Chicken with Jasmine Rice

With a couple of frozen chicken breasts, just dying to be cooked, I planned a head on this quick dinner recipe. As delicious as baked chicken is, I didn’t have the patience to cook a long meal (no matter how delicious the outcome). Tonight was all about ease and whipping something tasty on a time … Continue reading →
