It’s a luxury when both Rookie Chefs are in the same city, but when we can line up our schedules to visit each other—you know it’s almost exclusively around where we’re going to eat!
This trip to NYC, we planned a pre-birthday celebration for Kristin at BG Restaurant on Central Park (located on the 7th Floor of Bergdorf Goodman) *FANCY*
Finding a spot for a legit afternoon tea in NYC, we had done a lot of research—but the glowing reviews of BG and its proximity to The MET, won us over to make a packed (and regal) afternoon.
There are a few options when making a reservation (and make sure you call ahead in advance) but afternoon tea is served daily from 3-5PM and includes your choice of dammann frères teas, tea sandwiches, freshly baked scones, fruit preserves, devonshire cream and a variety of petite sweets.
There is also a BG Tea Service Royale that includes two glasses of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut NV—but we stuck with tea for this time around.
Overall, the entire experience was quite impressive and the assortment of sandwiches and sweets was more than enough for 2 people (which we split) and even had to take a little goodie back home with some to snack on later.
Pro-tip: Request a seat by the windows to get a great view of Central Park as you sip on tea like you’re in an OG episode of Gossip Girl.
It looks lovely.
